Sir Peter Hall was an English theatre, opera and film director who introduced London audiences to Waiting for Godot and founded the Royal Shakespeare Company. He later led the National Theatre and Glyndebourne Festival Opera, directing landmark productions including The Wars of the Roses, The Homecoming and Amadeus.
